The Airbnb Host & Local Business Fair: Where San Antonio Hosts and Businesses Meet

If you operate a short-term rental in San Antonio, you already know that hosting is anything but a one-person business.

Behind every successful property is a network of people who help make it work: cleaners, landscapers, handymen, pest-control companies, photographers, property managers, co-hosts, real estate professionals, and specialized service providers. Then there are the local businesses hosts introduce to their guests every day, including restaurants, chefs, artists, tour operators, and neighborhood businesses.

On Wednesday, April 14, 2027, we're bringing those worlds together again for the fourth San Antonio Airbnb Host & Local Business Fair.

And if the first three fairs have taught us anything, it's that some pretty remarkable things can happen when you simply put the right people in the same place.

More Than a Business Fair

The idea behind the fair has always been simple: San Antonio's short-term rentals don't operate in isolation.

Hosts need reliable local businesses. Local businesses need customers. Guests want authentic San Antonio recommendations. And hundreds of small businesses throughout our community already play a role in making San Antonio's visitor economy work.

The fair is where those connections get made.

Over the past three years, we've watched businesses meet hosts and develop relationships that continued long after the tables were packed up. Some businesses have returned a year or more later to tell us they're thriving. Others come back to the fair year after year, and some have become supporters of the host community in ways we never anticipated when we started.

That's exactly what we hoped would happen.

Come Find the People You Need

For hosts, the fair is an opportunity to meet the people behind the businesses you may eventually trust with your property and your guests.

You'll find companies offering cleaning, landscaping, pest control, handyman services, property management, real estate services, co-hosting, guest amenities, photography, and other services that help STR operators run better properties.

But we don't limit the fair to traditional STR vendors.

We invite local artists, authors, chefs, Airbnb Services and Experiences providers, entrepreneurs, and other businesses that can help hosts give visitors a better connection to San Antonio.

We also bring in organizations that can help hosts become better operators. City of San Antonio short-term rental permit staff have participated so hosts can ask questions and get compliance information directly from the people who administer the program. CPS Energy has shared information about free energy-efficiency programs available to property owners. We've also partnered with Colin's Hope, an Austin-based nonprofit focused on drowning prevention, to provide pool owners with free safety materials and resources.

You may come looking for a cleaner and leave having met a local artist whose work would be perfect for your Airbnb, a chef you'd love to recommend to guests, or a company offering a service you didn't know existed.

That's the fun of it.

Have a Business? Come Meet San Antonio Hosts

The fair is just as much for local businesses as it is for hosts.

San Antonio's short-term rental community represents hundreds of small-business operators who regularly purchase products and services for their properties. They hire contractors and service providers, replace furnishings and supplies, maintain yards and pools, solve plumbing and electrical problems, and look for ways to improve the guest experience.

They also talk to visitors every day.

When a guest asks where to eat, what to do, where to shop, or how to experience San Antonio beyond the usual tourist destinations, hosts have an opportunity to send that business directly into the local community.

That makes the relationship between hosts and local businesses unusually valuable.

We're particularly interested in meeting startups and entrepreneurs with good ideas. A new company may not have a large marketing budget or an established customer base. If you've created something that could genuinely help San Antonio hosts or their guests, we want to hear your pitch.

Some of the businesses we've introduced to the host community started small. Watching them succeed is one of the reasons we keep doing this.

And Yes, It's a Party

We don't want this to feel like walking through a hotel ballroom collecting brochures.

The fair is held outdoors at the historic Ogé House in San Antonio's King William neighborhood, on the lawn along the River Walk beneath enormous old oak trees.

Local chefs and Airbnb Services providers contribute food. Refreshments are available. A local jazz quartet performs. Participating businesses bring raffles, samples, demonstrations, and giveaways.

People stay. They talk. They exchange ideas. Hosts meet other hosts. Business owners meet other business owners. People who arrived not knowing anyone leave with new contacts.

Give People an Opportunity and See What Happens

Over three fairs, we've developed a philosophy about this event that is bigger than simply connecting vendors with customers.

Give people an opportunity without worrying first about what you get in return.

We've given startups exposure. Businesses have given hosts better services. Hosts have given those businesses customers. Hosts have introduced guests to other local businesses. Companies that found success within the host community have returned to support future events and other community efforts.

We give it away, and it multiplies and comes back, including the goodwill.

That's how a business fair becomes a community.
